Utilising a full armoury of keyboard instruments – piano, synthesizer and organ – as well as drums, bass and vocals, The Harlequin Chapter evolved into an outfit resembling a contemporary rock band in 2009. The band’s sound is interspersed with contemporary rock and metal, notably in the percussion and vocals, in addition to pianistic influences from the Baroque, Romantic virtuosos and beyond. The Harlequin Chapter is the soundtrack to the apocalypse. Amidst the bedlam of social discord, the waning faith of humans in themselves, the vengeful and overbearing relentlessness of their environment, The Harlequin Chapter observe. The cataclysmic rage of tyrants, titans and over-zealous theists, to the supremacy, the innocence and the intolerance of our own nature are just a fraction of the sources of influence to The Harlequin Chapter. Dark and disturbingly charismatic, their music draws the melancholy from ecstasy and the sanctity from misery. Swinging from delicate, flowering piano
