melbourne based, four piece, rock and roll band first formed when Erin and Rob decided they were sick of the lack of true rock and roll bands with real energy and passion. both being admirers of Paul Dempsey's lyrical genius, and both having had the libertines letterman performance of "i get along" burned into their heads, grunge based rock and roll seemed the logical choice of musical direction. Erin recruited Josh and band practise commenced. after a few months of searching for a bass player to complete the hollow kings, Cain, having heard newly written tunes blasting from the garage every weekend, decided to put his hand up for the position. as for the name, paul kelly's "little kings" is the hint.
