The Hussein Skank was formed in 2004 after a desperate need for the Townsville music scene to experience upbeat fun music and break away from the loud and moshy mould that had a grip on Townsville bands. Almost appearing from thin air, the ska band won the regional finals (JCU) of the 2004 Jim Beam National Campus Bands Competition and later in that year Townsville's Cream of the Jams Battle of the Bands. Our outlook on our music is if we are having fun, then the crowd will be having fun too.
