Hailing from Sydney, The Jackson Crow exhibit music drawn from an eclectic range of influences, culminating in a sound that is very much their own. The group of twenty somethings bring a love of country and folk music, sledge hammering it into a rough and sometimes very harsh side, with a real edge to it. Perhaps described as a crossroads between Guthrie-esque folk and a good serving of country twang – all performed with Credencey abandon – the band has both pop sensibilities and hillbilly swag in spades. The players themselves come from a history of playing with folk, funk and indie bands, as well as each being devoted music lovers of their own, very different record collections A brand new group, The Jackson Crow are releasing new tracks throughout August, with a debut record set to be completed in September 2013, followed by live shows throughout the rest of the year. There’s plenty to offer from the Jackson camp, so keep an ear out!
