"Several years ago, The Jay Dubs formed briefly, in attempts to artistically express the frustrations and anxieties of current Australian culture fashion trends, namely the "Mullet" (but also, underlyingly, the rise in popularity of the "dance music" genre). A cocktail of social observation, disgust and comedy, their minds melded together into the slick pulse of the track "Mullet", their only song. Featured in the track are hypothetical situations, predicting a broken-down society, commenting viciously on others' physical appearances. The hopes of the now-defunct band were to highlight and alert those who have slipped into a laziness and state of apathy on the topic of middle-class fashion trends, which revel in the looks of the filthy and the grosteque, and rather than merely fight against this trend, fuel serious cultural discussions and questions." -- Prof. Gregory McDumpy, leading 'Jay Dubs' expert and scholar.
