initially finding it's feet as a worthy distraction during a maths methods class in high school, founding members Jofias and Cam quickly decided to abandon their original direction of "prog-reggae" after spending several jams playing one skatellites-esque riff for 4 hours straight. inspired by the words and deeds of coldplay, or rather, a need to violently oppose the words and deeds of coldplay, the duo set about creating their own brand of blues-based punk rock they called "core-core". over the years, the line-up of the J.C.M. has seen many changes, with many joining the band simply to be kicked out after a couple of hours. at one point, following an argument over the sexuality of Morrisey, Jofias and Cam each kicked the other out, leaving the band still in existence for several days without any members. against all odds, the duo continued jamming in Jofias' small spare room (dubbed "the Kremlin"), until the discovery of their soon-to-be drummer, Todd, at a Peter Garret dance
