Born in south Detroit and raised in small town Michigan, JP played saxophone in grade school and then piano in bar bands. Steeped in 70's influences like Elton John, Floyd Cramer and blues players Billy Powell, Bill Paine, Leon Russell, Nicky Hopkins and Billy Preston. Moved to L.A. in 1985 and never left. Still, always playing something, somewhere. It's who he is.
