The Keytars Kids are a AA-battery-powered pop sensation. Using the ‘keytar’, the love-child of guitar and keyboard, they will take you on a funky tour into the den of retro-glam-paradiso. Join them as they show you what you can do with just 49 keys and a pitch bend
wheel. Featured in the band are Jimmy Jupiter on lead keytars, Jon Volcano on keytar bass and Wes Leslie on electric drums. Together they write quirky, retro-flavoured pop with a comedic edge – think The Monkees meets Flight of The Conchords. One of their songs was recently nominated for a Rudy Brandsma Award by the Australian Songwriters Association. The band recently completed their debut EP ‘Snappy. Fresh. New’ with producer Carl Schubert, who has worked with some of Australia’s highest profile artists. Now come see The Keytar Kids play their best cuts live as they finally emerge from the shadow of their guitar-wielding counterparts.
