If New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz, Adelaide is the birthplace of beard inspired music. For ten years the Beards have dominated this scene as the world has marched towards peak beard and ushered in a new wave of beard supremacy. From the fertile soils of the Adelaide Hills the Lackbeards sing more realistic songs about beards, bushrangers and lumberjacks. Released in November 2015, Real Men Shave is the Lackbeards concise manifesto. The Lackbeards have graduated from playing in bathrooms and bedrooms and played a number of intimate shows in domestic corridors, kitchens and loungerooms in 2016. In 2017 the Lackbeards spread their beardless message further afield with the Six Condiments in Six Days tour performing simple shaving related folk songs covered in organic spices. In 2027, in between their busy shaving schedule, the band plan to release a long awaited EP titled Hey Bushranger.
