The Light The Dark is a 5 piece melodic metalcore band from Perth, Western Australia, that delivers crushing heaviness with a unique balance of ambient driven verses, and emotive clean passages. Formed in 2013, The Light The Dark quickly set about releasing their debut album 'Born of Dust from a Dying World' in 2014 which featured guest appearances from Angus Cooke (The Ataris) and Denis Rad (Forstora). After touring Western Australia, Thailand, and South East Asia, the band realized that they wanted to take their music in a heavier direction, while maintaining the accessibility and catchy song writing present on the debut album. After a line-up reshuffle, The Light The Dark is on the verge of delivering an album that is both heavy, aggressive, and crushing, yet melodic, foreboding, and beautiful. The first single, 'Depart' features a narrative based around true events that tell a terrible story of the loss of a loved one to the plight of mental health. Mixed and mastered by Buster
