The Lonely Brothers

The Lonely Brothers augment their folky roots-ish sorta sound with bits and bobs of jazz phrasing, pop hooks, orchestral strings and worldly rhythms, tying it all together into an old-but-new sound. After forming a little folk trio in high school, they’ve added members, played a bunch of festivals, supported some Aussie music luminaries and released two records. Their second release - a self-titled album - marked the true beginning of their musical journey. Written while leaving home for the big smoke, it touched on first love, isolation, the ocean and going crazy. The album features the bands two modus operandi: in full swing with drums and double bass; and stripped back to just guitar, 2 voices and violin. Other highlights for the Brothers have included appearing at Fairbridge Festival, Nannup Music Festival, Perth International Arts Festival, West Coast Blues & Roots Fringe Festival and Nanga Folk Festival. They’ve also supported the John Butler Trio, Paul Kelly & The Stormwater
