loveless started out as a side-project for quentin & gillian, from australian synth-guitar pop-mash-up group genshen ( http://www.genshen.net/ ). loveless ( http://www.loveless.com.au/ ) was formed from a need for Quentin and Gillian to explore their shoegazey yearnings more thoroughly, but with a catch... using vintage keyboards instead of guitar! the duo have claimed to have invented a new style - they call it "electro-gaze"... a minimalist new wave sound with shoegazey stylings. loveless has quickly moved from a kitschy obsession unveiled at parties to being a serious venture playing the hippest venues in their home town of brisbane, and generating a lot of interest. On stage, loveless are an alien landscape of synths, a drum machine, pedals, innumerable leads and two very busy musos! Hailing from Melbourne Australia is The Loveless: Elissa Rose (River Of Snakes), Kris McDonald (Morrocan Knights), Ben Hovey, and Seona Cosgriff (Dianas Bow). Founded in 2005 by Elissa, Ben quickly joined the ranks on drums, but it wasn’t until 2011 when Seona (Bass) and Kris joined that The Loveless finally received the love it deserved. Having met at the famed Rock n’ Roll High School in 1995, Elissa and Seona were old friends now reunited. Kris, a keen surfer from Portland completed the ranks soon after as lead guitarist/resident noise maker. Four true children of the 90s, bonded by their mutual love of grunge, fender guitars, big muff pedals, and jamming - it was inevitable that their teenage influences came out in the wash, and that washing is dirty as all hell.
