Australian DJ and producer Lowdown is creating some of the most hard-hitting dance music in the electronic world right now. Born Paul Doolan, the Gold Coast-based artist has made a name for himself by not only producing top tier dance beats but also by showcasing his creative and effortless skill behind 4 decks. After exploring various corners of the electronic world, Lowdown has recently taken a deeper dive into the underground with heavy rave influences garnished atop his house & techno foundation. ‘Organ Donor’ (Lowdown’s first release on his own imprint 411 Records) skyrocketed to number 1 on the ARIA Club Chart in 2021, picking up support from dance titans Green Velvet, Gorgon City, Eli Brown, Ben Hemsley and received multiple spins on Triple J. With an army of A-list DJ support, a strong social presence and a plethora of unreleased heat in the arsenal, Lowdown is on trajectory for a stellar year ahead.

Bio history
Forming in March 2006 The Lowdown quickly developed a unique groove based sound that combines the rhythmic rhyme style vocals of hip hop with musical genres such as reggae, blues, funk, jazz and rock. The band's members encompass a wide range of influences and ideas which when fused together form a cohesive yet original sound. This originality extends also to the group's lyrical content which eschews the posturing and machismo which is so prevalent amongst hip hop lyricists. Instead vocalists Dom and Chris swing between deeply personal outpouring and socio-political observation and comment, inspiring deep thought and rocking the party at the same time. The Lowdown started gigging in December 2006 and have since performed with some of the top acts from the Australian music scene including; True Live, Astronomy Class, Mista Savona, The Winnie Coopers, Illzilla, SS Pecker, Live@Subs, Halfkast, Grassroots Street Orchestra and The Cool Calm Collective.
