Layla Jean, Alysia Manceau and Mandy Connell launch a 9 track recording under the name The Maggie Darlings. Recorded by Colin Wynne at Thirty Mill Studios in 2016, the album features songs by each artist, creating a country-folk-noir record of beautiful songs from very complimentary backgrounds. Lap Steel, Mandolin, Gretsch hollow-body, and banjo combine with acoustic guitars in a mix of haunting ballads, wry love songs and a touch of the Australian experience. With a little love from Double J, and a whole lot of anticipation from the three players individual followings, the launch will be a very special night, The Maggie Darlings is a side project from three Melbourne songwriters. In other projects, each Maggie is known for a distinctive style or personality.
