The Mating Season are an unusual three piece rock band. Blending violin, electric guitar and percussion, they create a sound not unlike that of a derailed steam train falling into a valley of bloodthirsty man-eating baboons. The Dadaist lyrics of TE Woodward, one third spoken, one third sung, one third gurgled like a bleating lamb, help add to the rich textures of this very degenerate rock band. The three members, Ehmah Man-Eater Kelly, Yen Coke-Fiend Ngyuen and TE Cat-Woman Woodward, combine eclectic influences, ranging from mid-eighties punk like Sonic Youth to the happy-go-lucky misery of 1950’s doo-wop. Ehmah Man-Eater Kelly is a classically trained violinist who likes to serenade the mourning relatives of fallen angels. Yen Coke-Fiend Ngyuen is completing his honours at the Canberra School of Music as an avant-garde jazz percussionist who likes to eat charred babies for breakfast. TE Woodward is an escaped juvenile delinquent who was on the road to literary super stardom,
