Adelaide band, The Midnight Fold, inspire narcotized daydreams akin to those sparked by The Dandy Warhols’ Come Down or Blur’s 13. There is a romantic heart to their sound, which is both raw and sweet. Louise Uphill (200 Motels, Louise Lovedust) delivers deep earthy tones drawing on a line of powerful chanteuses. Dave Gerner (Narcain) and Max Simpson (Crying Blue Rhetoric, The Ceiling Effect) provide a solid, driving foundation over which Jason Mavrikis (Quiet Child, The Ceiling Effect) reminds the audience that guitar driven music is still as important as it ever has been. Together, they map out a sound that is familiar to fans of the rock music of the 90’s. With it, they bring the 90’s zeitgeist: something not held in nostalgia, but digging into a power and ideal forgotten by many. The Midnight Fold launched their debut EP 'Accidentally on Purpose' at the Crown & Sceptre on Saturday 19 March 2016
