Edit history

Based in Hobart, the band first came together in winter 2012 during sessions for the 'Glad Hands' album project put together by Robbie McIntyre. Paul, Robbie and Tor had played together since 2000 as members of Hey Mook. Prior to joining Hey Mook Tor had been a member of popular Hobart band The Doublemen and he was also a member of Melbourne band The Sand Pebbles for their first album 'Shakes'. He also appeared on the Sand Pebbles 'Eastern Terrace' album. Paul, Robbie and Phil had played together as members of The Amigos during the 1990s. With the Glad Hands album complete, the band continued recording new material into 2013. Paul, Robbie and Tor left Hey Mook in late 2013. In early 2014 the band re-named themselves The Mighty Atom, a reference to the title of one of the new songs recorded during 2013. The Mighty Atom just launched its own youtube channel 'Atomic Hobart', which will serve as an outlet for the band's new material as it is completed. The Atomic Hobart youtube channel
