Let’s start by saying that, in one word, The Montauk Project is Big. This is a band that makes big music and a band that deserves classification with some of the biggest bands in hard rock history. Take your Black-Blue-Purple styles filtered through 90’s alt and Seattle sounds then take it forward a couple decades and you have the badass sound of Long Island NY’s The Montauk Project. The Montauk Project brings a fresh, unique sound with a heavy, solid foundation. Their music springs from a fantastic collective imagination. Their lofty ideas are deftly delivered with creative lyrics and great all-around sound. Taking the D-I-Y philosophy to heart, this album is clearly the result of passion, personal struggle and celebration in accomplishment. In a world of sheep, The Montauk Project is a big bad wolf and their debut album Belly Of The Beast is a gotta-have-it album for heavy rock fans. Very Highly Recommended.
