Beginning in 2013, brothers Andy and Marcus form The Mudge Brothers, a two-piece band that hail from the cold, windswept coast of the Southern Ocean. Although most two-piece bands go for a heavy sound, The Mudge Brothers play a more ambient and melodic brand of rock and roll, with dirty clean guitars and cracking drums all drowned in cold, briny echo. The Mudge Brothers have introduced audiences to their debut song "Crown of Thorns", a rolling tune that explodes into the listner's ears and doesn't let up for five mintues. Up and coming electronic artists, Surf Dad, described the song as "incredible...like Kurt Vile with Crazy Horse". The Mudge Brothers write and record all of their own music, in Andy's 'House of Sand' studio that is situated on a winery on the Bellarine Peninsula. The rural and coastal location.
