The Mutes are a four peice rock band based in Sydney....Picnic Point area. Our sound can be best described as heavy sludgey riffs with punk rock influence using fuzzy tones, combined with unique, dischordal vocal melodies sung poorly.... We began with school compadres Jacob, Gibbo and Crafty learning to play their instruments together roughly two years ago. We together jammed the few songs in which we knew how..... soon the time came to recruit a drummer. After a few jams with other drummers, Ev our longtime school comrade filled the seat after the unfortunate dissolution of his band Odion. With the final lineup of the mutes in place we gradually formed the sound which reside on the recordings on this page. The recordings were rushed and are ruff, but are in the process of re-recording these two songs, also with more mutes numbers on their way. Our individual influences are greatly varied but we all contribute in the writing process...creating the dischordant skewed mix of rock
