The My Tys are a young ska/reggae outfit out of Sydney featuring an amazing horn section that specialises in getting dance floors skanking up and down the east coast. They’ve played from Hayman Island to Airlie Beach to the Gold Coast to Byron Bay to Sydney to Wollongong to Perisher and back again, mixing ska with funky reggae and injecting some skankin' rock to boot. After coming 2nd in the National Final of the uni band comp back in 2009 the band eventually managed to headline at The Basement in Sydney, launching their debut album there to a sellout crowd in April 2011. Early videos of them playing at The Basement have reached 5000+ views on Youtube, and the animation to their song 'Running Man' was programmed on Rage. Their strong live reputation earned them work at Hayman Island, starring as the 'Band in the sand' for the islands' reopening in late 2011, and enabling the band to enjoy 5 star accommodation for the 1st time in their lives!
