The New Eileens formed in December 2009 with a couple of guys with nothing better to do with their holidays but sit down and write some songs together. Throughout the ensuing months, the band grew at an alarming rate to become the 5 piece that it is today. In only its second jam session as a complete outfit, at the start of March 2010, the band (still yet to be named) recorded a bunch of songs of very dicey sound quality, with total recording, mixing, mastering, engineering and producing costs totalling $10. After many gigs on the back of those tracks and some subsequent demos, the band decided to take a slightly more professional approach and began work on the debut EP. After months in the studio, the band has emerged with a new found maturity and refined sound that is set to take off in the second half of 2011 upon the release of The New Eileens EP.
