The Norwesterlies are an original folk-rock-world four piece based in Melbourne. They formed in 2016 as a three piece, with accomplished singer-songwriter Phil Hudson on vocals and guitar, Michaela Dedek on clarinet, backing vocals and percussion and multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Tri Nguyen on bass. They started out playing outdoor markets, small community festivals and private functions. In 2018 the Norwesterlies added experienced drummer Dave Shirley, filling out and consolidating their diverse sound. In late 2018 they entered the recording studio to record their first single ‘Five Years’, an emotive bluesy folk-rock refugee themed song. The band filmed the video clip in January 2019 and was released in March. Check it out on YouTube!
