Othman, or Ozi, as people more commonly know him, was born in Fremantle, WA as the 3rd child of Palestinian immigrant parents. He attained his first electric guitar for his 12th birthday, while visiting his mother in hospital, who had just given birth to her 7th child and 2nd girl, Aya on the 4th of February 1997. Ozi did most of his growing up in Oakford, WA and attended Armadale SHS. When he finished high school at the end of 2002, Ozi started a Certificate 3 in Music Industry at SWAN TAFE Leederville. Halfway through the course, his father noticed that Ozi was serious about pursuing a career in music and this caused much tension between them and in the home. Within 2 weeks of his father threatening to kick him out of home if he didn't cut his hair, Ozi packed up and headed east to Melbourne. It took him a few months to settle and finally lease a 1 bedroom flat in Elwood. He played open mic nights around Melbourne regularly during that time. In 2004 Ozi took a break from music
