The plagues orriginated from the band the Chess Club in which three of the present members played. The boys initially aimed for a hard and simple punk sound but tired of this boring attempt at music. From this the basis of the plagues was formed a band not affraid to unleash guitar solos of epic proportions and fuzzed out rythmic riffs to sooth the sole.

The Plagues are your classic roll and or rock band. From crashing sets to trashing sets these guys are just as likely to pass out on your doorstep as they are on stage. The Band started in 2004 when three school mates realised that getting drunk, stoned and playing music may actually be better than sex - with yourself. As a three piece they performed at a few local events mainly under the name of "The Chess Club" and received favourable responses from audiences for their fast paced, no holds barred, loud rock and roll. Then they bought themselves a bassist and changed their name. I could start using this space to describe the band's music as unique and mind blowingly original like everybody else but then I'd be lying. The band simply likes the roar of fuzzed out guitars buzzing over the thundering bass and drum backbone of a good rock 'n' roll tune.
