The Plutocrats are a Sydney-based band formed between four university students with widely diverse backgrounds, influences and artistic perspectives. India, Turkey, Russia, and America are the countries of origin of the four members, and aspects from each culture are present in the band’s sound and collective approach to their music. Plutocrats blend classic psychedelia with aspects of jazz, soul and funk - with melodic basslines drawing inspiration from neo jazz and funk, blistering guitar tones, skittering synth lines and laid back drum grooves, the Plutocrats often apply fresh ideas to the tried and true sounds of modern psychedelic rock.
