The Predicaments As teenagers, Steve Bull and Greg Harrison toured the north coast of NSW in their first band, “Incognito”. Although the band split up, Steve and Greg stayed in touch. As a professional bassist, Steve played in many bands and wrote a multitude of songs collaborating with artists such as Ana Christensen and Daryl Braithwaite before eventually joining the iconic Australian band, “Icehouse”. Greg spent many years playing guitar in Soul and Afro-reggae bands such as "Cajun Moon" and “Nahbenzi”, eventually building Gecko Studios on Sydney’s northern beaches, recording and releasing music under the guise of “AudiOCD” and “Dr Effector”. Fast-forward to the 2020s and Steve and Greg are still in touch. Perhaps due to the pandemic and/or fate, the opportunity arose to rekindle the old collaboration. After much virtual and actual toing and froing, and with an expanding collection of songs, they formed the production and song-writing duo, The Predicaments. With Greg (mostly) in charge of lyrics and Steve (mostly) in charge of music, the songs range widely in styles from soul to indie; from haunting acoustic ballads to moody reggae; from Beatle-esq pop to afro-beat. Friends and colleagues such as Michael Paynter (Aria award winner), Jade McCrae, Dominique Douglas and Ben Scarf feature as guest vocalists; and Pete Drummond and Clayton Doley lend a legendary hand to the recordings. Long-time friend (and former flatmate), Ted Howard, also mixed many of the tracks.
