Live your entire life in the same town, and the familiar can begin to be seen as a quiet celebration of life. For guitar rock four-piece The Public Holiday, this feeling of affection growing up in Adelaide has manifested itself as their second release, the Verse Chorus Verse EP. Lead by singer-songwriter-guitarist Anthony Wignall and drummer Nathaniel Morse, and rounded out by guitarist Rory Oconnor and bassist Thomas Smeets, the band began grasping for something tangible once writing began for material that would become the second EP. Rather than dwell in the dissatisfaction, the band used this to write what would become the Verse Chorus Verse EP. "We wanted to write songs that were almost a grassroots propaganda campaign for the state" Morse says. "You'd think that living your whole life up until this point inside a 20km radius would be depressing as hell. Turns out, with the right people around you, it's not. It's amazing." The EP was recorded between Morse's Elysian Fields
