The Ray Martians are an enigma of the Hobart Music Scene. Each member has attained greater recognition outside the group, however, it is within The Ray Martians that their artistry is at its peak. You only have to attend a low key gig to understand the beauty that is The Ray Martians. Based around Tony Brennan's extraordinary song writing abilities, The Ray Martians' original repertoire combines elements of folk, Rock, world and jazz, with thought provoking lyrics, sophisticated instrumentation, and four part harmonies. Since forming in 1998, the ray Martians have performed regularly at the taste of Tasmania, the cygnet folk festival, abc radio's "live in the centre" and numerous venues including the University Bar, Cafe Who, Irish Murphy's (Hobart and Launceston), Bridie O'Reilly's, The Trout, The Prince of Wales Hotel, the telegraph hotel and The Republic Bar and Café. Tony has had considerable success as a songwriter, with "Wapping", "Often London" and "Another Emerald Isle"
