The Reclusives The Reclusives are a three-piece rock band from Brisbane. The band formed in 2005 when Bronagh O’Kane and Ben Costello grew sick of ‘artists’ singing songs that they didn’t believe in. The first thing they did was learn some chords and enlist the help of Ben’s brother Leigh, who always had ambitions to be a drummer. The Reclusives’ strengths are their diversity, Bronagh and Ben share songwriting and singing duties, and through their music, they aim to connect to their audience through their stripped back, but honest songs and energetic live show. The Reclusives’ have maintained a DIY ethic in their music and refuse to bow to outside influences and pressures, they want to do things their own way, and achieve success on their own terms. The band recorded four songs late last year which are available on the CD sarcastically entitled “Grand Entrance”. The Reclusives’ have come out of seclusion at last and their music beckons to be heard. www.myspace.com/thereclusives
