The Refuge
Refuge...in third person...are a Blue Mountain induced family folk/chill duo. Currently scraping the deep lint- ridden folds of their jeans to fund a long awaited EP. Keep in mind that the tracks they've uploaded are rough cut..like a diamond.
Forming in the cold, dark depths of Gadubanud Country/The Otways (South West Victoria), now based in Naarm/Melbourne, The Refuge are a unstoppable force of heavy riffs, emotive vocals, machine like synchronisation. While The Refuge are a grunge/rock band looking influences such as Queens of the Stone Age, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains, they also blend in their love for psychedelic, punk and old school heavy metal into their sound. Only a few weeks into the year, 2026 was kicked off with a free show supporting Wolfmother at The Espy, St Kilda.The year before saw the band head out on a tour of regional Victoria and saw the release of three singles, the fast and punchy “Heart in my Hands”, a personal ballad, “The Winding Road” and a heavy, sludgy track called “Call my Own”. In 2026, The band continues to work on their 11 track debut album to drop in the later half of year.
