Doug Boatman prefers to live underwater - away from the rage and chaos of modern life. Unsure of his age and birthplace, Doug tends to wander countless coastlines and riverbanks seeking inspiration for his songs, fraternising with the colourful characters typical of such places and from whom he draws his inspiration. Doug is not bound by borders and the music speaks of the many international talents, unbridled tributaries, who have contributed to The Rivers' sound. The songs tell tales of hope and loss. It is rumoured that you may find Doug down the lane behind the Leeward Inn where he plays pétanque with the old sea dogs on Tuesday afternoons.

The Rivers
Bio history
Who would have thought that 2 kids playing in a park could bring together such a wonderful motley crew of humans. The Rivers were born from a chance meeting of Stu Wilson (drums/guitar/backing vocals) and Sienna Egan (lead vocal) when their two kids decided to make friends in Marrickville park. After talking musical shop and laying down some vocals (for another project of Stu’s) the idea to form a band took shape. Stu pulled in some friends - Andy Newman (Bass), Marko Simec (Keys/Percussion/Backing vocals) and with the addition of Rupert (lead guitar) The Rivers started to flow! Its hard to pigeonhole The Rivers sound. Their music is elemental of blues, Rock, Jazz, Country and Soul. With so much combined musical history the band have created their own unique sound. A sound that they hope the world will enjoy!
