TThe Rumour Mill is a four piece band from the Illawarra region of NSW. Finally settling on a sound, they captured the music they learned from their parents and added the cynical tongue-in-cheek attitude of the youth raised in the 1990’s, to create their own style of alternative rock. James’s vocal style is reminiscent of Kurt Cobain, Eddy Vedder and Billy Corgan while his lyrics are vivid and dark in the style of Maynard James Keenan and Robert Smith. His guitar rings through as the element, the one thing missing making the sound complete. Brad’s heavy metal guitar technique through a blues style valve amp creates a vaguely dark rock and roll sound akin to that of Led Zeppelin. His rhythm and soloing technique make him a distinctive and unique element to the band. Clinton unabashedly wears his musical influences on his sleeve. A big fan of The Smashing Pumpkins, as well as early alternative acts like The Doors, he has an unprecedented ability to seamlessly blend these elements
