We are The Rupees an synth rock band from Bristol and our sound is a thrilling outburst of upbeat, driving energy. Our unique style is defined by a wall of snarling yet soulful vocals, atmosphere defining synthesizers, thunderous disco rhythms and thick, fuzzy guitars. We also like purple. Our music has already been showcased on BBC Radio 1 (Huw Stephens), BBC Radio 6 (Steve Lamacq), BBC Introducing and Sky Sports 1's Soccer AM and our self-titled EP is out now. Having played festivals including Glastonbury, Nozstock, the main stage of Lemonfest and Reading Festival as well as supporting bands such as Blossoms and The Growlers and selling out Bristol headline shows, all whilst unsigned, shows we are making all the right noises in all the right places as we take our distinctive and confident brand of rock n roll around the UK. For our lead singer Ryan Tucker, the meaning behind The Rupees music is simple ‘We’re making music that will motivate to make you move, sing, and lose
