“When a star goes bang, the first we will observe of it is a rain of tiny particles…they will flood through the Earth and bizarrely enough, even though the supernova we see visually will light up the night sky, 99 per cent of the energy in the supernova is released in these particles that will come through our bodies and through the Earth with absolutely no harm whatsoever.” The illegitimate love child of Canberra songwriter and musician, Aleshia Flanagan, Second Sun has been gradually expanding into existence since 2009. The project finally materialised with the release of a debut album in Feb, 2012. 'Broken English' is the first song to be released from their second album 'Balance & Falling' - a concept album to be launched in October 2014.

The Second Sun, aka Megan Cornish and Mikaela Wang, is a brand new indie pop duo from Melbourne, Australia. With dizzying harmonies, sweet timbres and brutally honest lyrics, the Second Sun create somber yet refreshing glimpses in the burdens and frustrations of adolescence. Megan and Mikaela have been lifelong friends who share a passion for music and singing. Their sound is a mix between Lana Del Ray, Marina and the Diamonds, Billie Eilish and Chase Atlantic. They have sang at numerous open mic nights together, and plan to arrange shows once the live music scene rebounds from the COVID crisis. The Second Sun's debut single BOYS is out on July 2nd 2021, and is a moody, sensual track about their experiences dealing with the mind games of boys.
