The Semiautos is the story of Merc chasing Alex And trying to win her love back and reach out to her through the music. With there unofficial release of their debut Album 1967 The Lost Recordings , it sets Merc up on his journey and for the next few years his brilliance is unmatched in regards to the rawness of his emotion and delivery in his songs To my best friend is the last track on his 1969 album and after this no one knows what happened to him and Alex and The Semiautos. There is also a 1968 album to be released which was the second album in the series of 3 . When Andy Warhol died in 86 Hollywood wanted to do a movie on Merc and the Semis but couldn’t locate the music so the project was shelved . But now the music has been unearthed , at least some of the raw and uncut material Hollywood’s interest has also been renewed . To this day no one really knows what happened to Merc and Alex , and it’s still one of the Great mysteries of Rock and Roll
