‘The Shareholders’ is a new Melbourne band – 20 years in the making. A recording trio that has emerged from a covers band unable to perform or even rehearse together. When members Dean Allen-Craig, John Schmidli and Rob Vague started playing music together in the late 90’s, they knew there was something special going on. Since then, they have collaborated with many other talented musos, playing hundreds of gigs around Melbourne, in numerous bands including the ‘Dead Set Chick Magnets’, ‘Paper Scissors Rock’ and ‘Picasso Special’. Keyboard player and singer/songwriter Rob Vague kicked things off with this new song, ‘World Keeps Turning’. Drummer, John Schmidli is doubling as the bands recording engineer, producing a mixed and mastered track from the individual sessions recorded in our various isolated home studios. John also debuted playing bass and some additional guitar on this track. Guitarist and singer/ songwriter, Dean Allen-Craig completes the package with a video clip created from all the footage taken while recording our separate parts. The Shareholders have a swag of new original material already in the studio and they’re looking forward to being able to get out and perform live once again.
