The Si Claros only have two members (Brooke Cotton on guitar, Vincent Scagnetti on cocktail drums and pedal keys, both on vocals). So what are we? Some labels thrown out there have been noise, pop, surf and Mexican. Not heaps helpful we know so try to imagine if Patsy Cline decided to do songs about Mexican wrestlers through a Fuzzmunchkin pedal. Still not there? Please don’t panic, The Si Claros are about to release 150 multicoloured 7 inch records titled “Diego” for you to listen to and hopefully it will answer all of your questions. The songs featured on the 7 inch (Diego, Girls Of The Lost City and Suite/Minute) were recorded during the summer of 2011 with Cam Smith at Incremental Records (Dune Rats, Tiny Spiders, Velociraptor et al) in Brisbane. It’s available on Bandcamp for the fair sum of $8 or at one of our shows and comes with a bonus digital track, a cover song “Damn 92” by Costa Rican band Las Robertas.
