Slinking out from the inky shadows of the Adelaidean night, synth-pop trio SKIES dish up their glitchy, sanguine new single ‘Speed Boy’, produced by Steven Schram (San Cisco, The Cat Empire, Paul Kelly). Following the critical success of SKIES’s self-produced releases ‘Call for My Heart’ and ‘Too Young’, ‘Speed Boy’ wants things to get personal. There's no shyness here. Just a quiet, serpentine confidence. Just restless drums, punchy synths and magnetic vocals. Just a come-hither glance across the dance floor that'd made the Pope blush. SKIES had a lucrative 2015 that saw them supporting the likes of SAFIA, Peking Duk, Tkay Maidza, Meg Mac, The Kite String Tangle and more, along with taking out 'best new artist' at the South Australian Music Awards - and the SA natives are keeping the pedal firmly to the metal with plans to tour the UK later this year. ‘Speed Boy’ is a tantalising amuse bouche for what’s to come - and it looks as though SKIES aren't gonna stop moving at their own

The Skies have released their debut song Laughing, Staring Up Into the Sky. Yes, we really like the word 'sky'. The song was recorded at A Pocket Full of Stones recording studio and produced by Nick Huggins. Film clip at www.theskiesband.com. The Skies are a two-piece composed of James Branson (former member of Kid Confucius, Beats Working) and Alice Foulcher (school choir member, 1997). They split their time between Melbourne, Sydney and Coffs Harbour. It’s not massively convenient, but they make it work. More songs coming soon
