Edit history

The Social Dead are a Wollongong alt rock band blending punk, grunge, rock, and raw emotion. What began as weekend jams between Timmy, Weasel, and Brashy found new life when Mar joined in 2020, bringing gut-punch lyrics and serious vocal power. Their debut "The EP"(2021) reworked older tracks with fresh energy, followed by the single "Miss Me When I’m Gone" in 2023, written during lockdown. That same year, Johnny, former frontman of Born Lion, joined, adding melodic grit through guitar and vocals, helping shape their sound into something fierce and honest. His influence led to "Couldn’t Be Better" (2024), an EP packed with 90s alt rock energy and emotional punch. In 2025, they’re set to release "What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Sad", a cathartic, high-energy EP exploring burnout, grief, and resilience. With Mar and Johnny now sharing vocals, the band delivers a powerful, textured sound that’s raw, melodic, and unmistakably honest.
