Forming in late 2004 with a female vocalist, The Socialites cruised their way around the local music scene bringing a new sound to all who listened, which had been dubbed to sound like Rancid with Gwen Stefani singing, with a bit of ska added on the side. In mid 2005 however, the socialites lost their vocalist and reformed as a three piece and have going down a more Old School road, which has been compared to the Clash, The Jam and other great punk bands from the old days.
