Andy Hazel met Misty Fox in 2003, when she went to buy unsatisfying carob treats at the health food store he runs in Fitzroy. Six months later they collaborated on a track called Disco Zombies with Andrew Bulhak as The Hotts. Andy and Misty kept in touch, and after other various individual adventures (like playing in School Of Emotional Engineering, touring with DFA1979 and MSTRKRFT and remixing Bjork), decided to go on the ultimate one, and formed The Stray. A few months later Misty's best friend Alexa Chung joined the band on vibes. The Stray exist outside of space and time. The Stray like: Bikinis, drum machines, cowboy boots, wet t-shirts, pompoms, Rickenbacker basses, baritone guitars, hand claps, cocktails, sexy microphones, Bad American Calvin Klein jeans, costume parties, dancing like hyperactive kids and are tired of international phone calls.
