The Suffringtons are a five-piece band musically influenced by a range of styles including Alt Country, Folk and Rock and Roll. Since they formed in 2016, The Suffringtons have been working steadily around Ballarat and surrounding areas in pubs and venues and they recorded and produced their first album in early 2019. The Suffringtons originally started as a duo when Mark O’Brien (guitar, bass and vocals) and troubadour Anthony Brooks (vocals) began to follow a life long dream of writing and creating music together. After a chance encounter and rekindling of an old friendship in a local pub, Paul Giles joined the band on blues harp. This morphed again a short-time later to include Jeremy Beggs as an additional singer and multi-instrumentalist (bass, guitar, mandolin and vocals). Ross Tweeddale (drums and vocals) finally completed the line-up in the last couple of years.
