The Surge are a band that define their own sound, but if that's not enough imagine if a punk and a grunge were happily married, had a baby and then shortly after divorced. This creation is The Surge. After solidifying as a 3 piece band, (Zayne Woodley Lake on drums, Will Sawyer on guitar/vocals and Jacob Hastings on Bass/backup vocals) their sound and image has evolved into something they're proud of. With a dynamic bunch of artists with varying backgrounds and influences, their live performance is an avenue for emotional release of topics that bothers them. The Surge hopes to express their electric performance further outside of Brisbane and Beyond.

The Surge is a 4 peice Grunge/Punk band from Liverpool. We formed our band about 2 years ago, started writing songs straight away. At the time we were heavily influenced by Nirvana. Then we lost our drummer and played without one for about a year but kept writing songs and playing together gaining more style due to our influences. With the new drummer we have become alot tighter and our style has become more heavier. We have also just finished recording our 6 track ep "Word Of Mouth".
