The Toothpicks have had a hell of a first year. This bracingly inventive indie rock band’s first two singles earned them over 13,000 streams, 1500 monthly listeners and 500 followers on Spotify in a few short months, alongside countrywide radio support from RTR/The Sound Alternative, 4ZZZ and Homebrewed/ Coast FM, among others. They've also played an astonishing 50+ shows since finalising their lineup in March 2022, establishing themselves as one of the most in-demand support acts on the local scene. Some highlights include selling out the 200-capacity Chippo hotel for their first headline, supporting the Choirboys for their Run to Paradise anniversary show, and coming second place out of 50 entrants in Bucketty's Battle of the Bands competition. In short, it’s getting harder and harder not to notice this inspired indie rock act.
