The tourmalines began in 2016 in the Hunter Region of NSW, as the natural evolution of years of teaching, learning and jamming in a backyard studio. The group comprises of two sister musicians, Georgia Cunningham (vox + guitar) and Sophie Cunningham (bass + backing vox) and long-term music tutor and friend Lakin Agnew (drums and guitars). Based on a mutual love of music and friendship, the three began musical collaborations many years before the tourmalines came to be. Their jams are stylistically eclectic , suggesting a range of influences from Lana del Rey to Fleetwood Mac Though this trio have spent their entire life saturated in music, it is the release of their debut single BONES that will mark their true musical introduction to the world. Within the walls of their first recorded track BONES, the group has just begun to define a sound with a compelling combination of rich melodic layers and melded rhythm sections. Watch this space for future releases.
