Originally based in Canberra, the city of dreams, Valleys formed in 2010 after Al and Charlie began recording as a duo with sound engineer, Sam Brumby, who then went on to became the band’s drummer, manager and recording engineer. For the next two years, Valleys survived long-distance relationships which saw band practice become a bi-annual, and fairly messy, affair. In April 2012 they headed for the coast and recorded their first extended play, entitled 'Costero'. Now miraculously all based in Sydney, Valleys have had more than 2 practice sessions in the last year (a new band record) and are continuing to write songs that sound nothing like each other.

The Valleys are an indie rock band from Sydney, Australia. Phoebe Ponder on vocals/percussion, Huzzy and Juan Rodriguez on rhythm/lead guitar. The band has performed as Red Dragonfly at a number of venues around Sydney including The Vanguard, Valve Bar and Foundry616 as well as Spectrum and The Record Crate; playing both their original material as well as arrangements of new and old popular songs. The Valleys are currently in the process of creating a new sound, more along the lines of upbeat pop/rock. The three core members are in the works of creating an EP with some fresh new band members which will be due out later this year.
