The Veescars are a union of accomplished musicians and songwriters breathing a fresh sensitivity into contemporary Perth music. Formed in 2006 after a long standing collaboration between singer and song-writer Maynard Inkster, and guitarist Tom Varian, the pair attracted the talents of local drummer/bassist James Trewenack, and weeks later the trio went on to win the Step up Live song-writing competition. Playing the field in 2010 The Veescars welcome Andrew Ayre, the band’s new bassist, to the fold. Ayre brings a groove to the rhythm section transmitting an unstoppable bass line to reveal depth in The Veescars’ pop melodies. The debut EP release ‘Lucy’ is a creative realisation, a reflection of reality and surreal dream like sequences that gives permanency to The Veescars’ honest and undeniably alluring sounds.
