The Vestal Virgins are a three-piece rock band from Paddington/Toowong in Brisbane. Founding members Lucas de Lastic and Alex Leggett united as if by fate in Ancient History one day in Year 10 at high school. Alex heard Lucas singing "Give it Away" behind him and they instantly became friends. From then on, they constantly swapped cds, dvds, vcds and ipods opening each other's imaginations and minds into the galaxy of music that exists out there. From obvious influences such as Led Zeppelin, the Stones, Lou Reed, Bowie and Iggy Pop to sounds like John Frusciante's solo album, Arabian sagas and Indian ragas and a plethora of Melbourne and Brisbane bands exploding onto the scene. Mike Howe joined the band after moving into Lucas' abode at the Bamboo Palace in Toowong and they started jamming and gelling immediately. The group's snowball hasn't stopped rolling.
