The Vinyl Sea began it's life as a drunken, late night promise between friends that they would form a band. In the sober light of morning neither Pia or Ant had the guts to back down, so it was off to the local music store to buy the gear. Thousands of dollars later, well, theyjust had to take it seriously. Didn't they? So that was March, 2005. In its infancy, The Vinyl Sea ran with the name "The Climbing Roses" and had another drummer. That lasted about nine months - a very important nine months of learning how to play, how to song-write, and how to take criticism from each other without crying. In December, the band found Russ. His drumming style kicked the girls to a new level, and pretty soon the band was hammering out some strong, indie rock/blues tunes that put nice wide smiles on everybody's faces. A new drummer, a new feel, a new name - thus the Vinyl Sea was born. And that, as they say, is history.
